Exhibit judging will continue in 2020 virtually for Junior, Open and Senior classes. Online entries will be open from June 1 to June 30, 2020.

All entries will be judged from July 1-12 and results will be posted on our website and our social media accounts during fair week. Dept. 6 - Jr. Horse & Pony

The 2020 Jefferson County Fair has been canceled as of June 1st. The Fair is offering a virtual show for almost all areas. The decision was made to NOT conduct a virtual junior horse show because while some of the classes typically held (Showmanship and Horsemanship) could be done virtually, other classes (pleasure, trail and speed) can not be accurately represented via a video. In order to judge a trail class appropriately, the obstacles used in each video should be identical in size, shape and material and not everyone has those obstacles available. Speed class times can vary greatly with even a slight difference in the distance between the barrels and the footing of the arena. Since not all of the classes typically offered at fair were able to be done virtually, the decision was made to not hold any classes except for, Division F. The Fair surveyed exhibitors, 4-H JCHP committee, and other industry professionals before making this very tough decision.

We appreciate everyone's commitment to the Horse & Pony project and would still like to showcase those that would have been showing during the Fair online. If you are able, please send in a picture of yourself and/or your horse with a description using our online form and we will feature you in the "Horse Barn"!

Department 6, Division F, Classes:

  1. Safety Poster on safe habits to use when around horses
  2. Scrapbook of 10 popular breeds of horses with a description of each breed
  3. Poster or exhibit on the diseases and/or parasites of horses
  4. Poster or exhibit on good horse grooming
  5. Any other exhibit related to the Horseless Horse project.

Dept. 106 - Open Class Draft Horse

The 2020 Jefferson County Fair has been canceled as of June 1st. The Fair is offering a virtual show for almost all areas. The decision was made to NOT conduct a virtual Open Draft Horse show.

We appreciate everyone's commitment to their Draft Horses and would still like to showcase those that would have been showing during the Fair online. If you are able, please send in a picture of yourself and/or your horse with a description using our online form and we will feature you in the "Draft Horse Barn"!
