General Questions
What are the storage buildings like?
• Indoor Storage: Your unit will be safely stored in an enclosed, locked building with a concrete or sand floor. Please note that it’s unheated.
• Outdoor Storage - Covered: We have several open-air barns with overhead cover. While these provide some protection, the sides are open, so your unit isn’t fully shielded from the weather.
• Outdoor Storage - Uncovered: Units are stored in clusters of similar vehicles outside, with no protection from the weather.
Can I access my unit during the storage season?
Generally, no. If needed, you can contact our office at 920-674-7148 to discuss your options. Access typically comes with a fee, which is decided case by case (i.e. is the building snowed in, do we have adequate staff, is your unit blocked in, etc).
Can I plug my unit in during the Winter?
Unfortunately, we cannot allow people to plug in trickle chargers or accessories for the length of winter storage season. To make sure that your unit is ready for pickup in the Spring, we recommend you take your battery out during the winter (if you have a vehicle/motorhome), and plug it back in for pickup.
Drop Off
What should I bring with me at drop-off?
All you'll need is your unit, covers if applicable, and enough time and patience to work with our staff!
We ask that you think ahead to pickup in April, and let us know if you need an early pickup at the time of drop-off.
How do we measure the length of your unit?
• Boats: When measuring your boat, be sure to include everything from the tip of the trailer tongue to the end of the boat motor. Think of it as measuring from “Tip to Toe.”
• Pull-behind Campers: For campers, measure the full length, starting from the hitch all the way to the furthest point at the rear of the vehicle.
• Cars and RVs: Measure these from bumper to bumper.
• Motorcycles and Small Cars/Campers: If your storage unit is less than 10 feet long, please note that there’s a minimum charge for 10 feet.
When is drop-off?
Drop-off will begin Thursday, November 5th and end on Thursday November 11th. Every person that signs up will be contacted via email to schedule a drop-off time. Keep your eyes open in October for that sign-up!
Pick Up
Can I take my unit out of storage early?
If you think you might need to take your unit out early (like in March), just let us know when you drop it off. This way, we can place it in a spot that’s easier to access.
If you don't let us know when you drop-off the unit, you may be charged for the early pickup as our staff may have to Tetris your unit to get it out.
When is Pickup?
Pickup runs from April 5th - April 11th, which will include weekday and weekend pickup options. If you're a winter storage tenant, check your email for updates on Winter Storage pickup!
What do I do if my unit won't start during pickup?
We encourage all Winter Storage customers to come prepared with tools to start their units and fill their tires. If needed, our staff will do their best to help you for a $50 charge. If it still doesn't start up, it'll be the customer's financial responsibility to get the vehicle towed.
