General Questions
What are the storage buildings like?
• Indoor Storage: Your unit will be safely stored in an enclosed, locked building with a concrete or sand floor. Please note that it’s unheated.
• Outdoor Storage - Uncovered: Units are stored in clusters of similar vehicles outside, with no protection from the weather.
• Outdoor Storage - Covered: We have several open-air barns with overhead cover. While these provide some protection, the sides are open, so your unit isn’t fully shielded from the weather.
Can I access my unit during the storage season?
Generally, no. Our buildings are locked to maintain security, and we have limited staff. However, if you have a special need, like checking the battery or showing it to a potential buyer, we can discuss special accommodations on a case-by-case basis. Call our office at 920-674-7148 to ask!
Can I plug my unit in during the Winter?
Unfortunately, we cannot allow people to plug in trickle chargers or accessories for the length of winter storage season. To make sure that your unit is ready for pickup in the Spring, we recommend you take your battery out during the winter (if you have a vehicle/motorhome), and plug it back in for pickup.
Drop Off
What should I bring with me at drop-off?
All you'll need is your unit, covers if applicable, and enough time and patience to work with our staff! We’ll also ask for the date you plan to pick up your unit in April, so we can make the release process as smooth as possible.
How do we measure the length of your unit?
• Boats: When measuring your boat, be sure to include everything from the tip of the trailer tongue to the end of the boat motor. Think of it as measuring from “Tip to Toe.”
• Pull-behind Campers: For campers, measure the full length, starting from the hitch all the way to the furthest point at the rear of the vehicle.
• Cars and RVs: Measure these from bumper to bumper.
• Motorcycles and Small Cars/Campers: If your storage unit is less than 10 feet long, please note that there’s a minimum charge for 10 feet.
When is drop-off?
Drop-off will begin Wednesday, October 29th and end on Wednesday November 5th. Every person that signs up will be contacted via email to schedule a drop-off time. Keep your eyes open in October for that sign-up!
Pick Up
Can I take my unit out of storage early?
If you think you might need to take your unit out early (like in March), just let us know when you drop it off. This way, we can place it in a spot that’s easier to access. Keep in mind, early removals are limited, and there may be additional fees for the extra labor needed to release your unit.
When is Pickup?
Pickup will begin Thursday April 9th and end on Friday April 17th. We will have available times each day throughout that time, including the weekend of the 11th.
What do I do if my unit won't start during pickup?
Because there may be units parked behind you, pickup can become tricky if a unit won't start and is left in it's area. While our staff is capable of starting a battery, it does take time out of their packed winter storage schedule, and can create a line for people trying to get picked up. If you do need our services to start your vehicle, there will be a $50 charge you can pay in the office. If it still doesn't start up, it'll be the customer's financial responsibility to get the vehicle towed.
